Dreaming about Vienna

In a few days, my boyfriend and I are traveling to Vienna, Austria. This is our second time visiting the city. First time was in winter three years ago and we had three really rainy and cold, but still very nice days. Austria is our neighbor country; we will need approximately four hours by car from Ljubljana to capital city of Austria. We rented our apartment for the whole week, because we would really like to take enough time to enjoy our holiday and not just running from one landmark to another. It will be less stressful than visiting England, because we feel more like at home there. It’s not just closer, but also somehow more comfortable and safer city than London. It might be just my thinking. Because we have already been there we know some things and main streets, so that is also a plus. Albertina gallery What am I the most excited about? I enjoy visiting palaces and museums (hate classic galleries), so this is definitely the best place for that. I also like b...

Mini movie marathon

What do you do in your spare time when you stay without your internet connection for a few days? Read? Go out for a walk? I decided to watch some older movies which were luckily already downloaded on my computer and were waiting for my attention. I love old movies, especially classics from 50s and 60s with Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. I also admire thrillers from Hitchcock and if I leave all that sex scandals behind endless monologues from 70s written by Woody Allen. My best part is to closely observe fashion, makeup, scenes and environment. This mini marathon was focused on Woody Allen and Marilyn Monroe. I already watch all three movies before and knew the story, but that never stops me from watching again. Each time I discover something new and still get excited. I like to watch Marilyn’s acting, her sexy confidence and vulnerability at the same time. Woody is interesting and makes life often so complicated. He always represents relationships as complex and realistic and ...

London memories

A year ago, my boyfriend and I went on our first trip to London. I got on a plane for the first time and was very excited and also scary at the same time. But I liked the experience and would definitely do it again. Don’t let me even bother to explain how our bags arrived home the day after us… but at the end, everything was fine.     My first time on the plane  I think this was mostly my wish, especially because of my love to British royal stuff. I always wanted to see Kensington palace and other places related to princes Diana. I was lucky enough to see exhibition of her most famous dresses. Exhibiton of  Diana's dresses in Kensington palace Those few days gone by very quickly and I think that my experience of England was quite superficial in one way. I don’t know if I was truly aware of the fact that I was actually in London and realizing my longtime wish. There was a lot of walking, driving by subway, visiting to museums and junk food. We...

Orange wishes

Somewhere I read that burnt orange was the color of fall 2017, well I like it in spring 2018 and I don’t care. It’s not just about that specific shade, it’s about orange and red tones in makeup in general. When I first saw Naked heat palette I was like: ˝no, no, so not for me˝, but now I like those colors. I’m simply open to try something different. I decide not to spend 50€ on actual Naked palette, but I would like to try ˝cheaper˝ and smaller version, some kind of dupe by Smashbox cover shot palette  called Ablaze , which is just from recently available in our country. Ulta The next thing I’m curious to try is matiffying photo finish light primer , also from Smashbox.  This is not orange, bur still deserves a place on my list. It is available in travel size, so if it doesn’t work for me it won’t be that bad. I’m just crossing my fingers that they invented primer for my oily T-zone. Smashbox OPI – Yank my Doodle – another nail polish you will say. In m...

Birthday blues

On May 4th I celebrated my 30 th birthday. I must say I felt slightly depressed in weeks before and very nervous about my ˝party˝ at work. It’s a custom to bring some food at the office when celebrating you birthday, especially for so called milestone birthdays. At the end everything went just fine and smooth and I was happy with my big day. My worries were unnecessary as usual. I don’t feel different now, I’m just joking about my age more often. My boyfriend is a bit younger than me, so I sometimes call myself old lady. Hey, but I’m also more experienced, right? J My Facebook wall was almost clear (I think 7 people from 104 wrote me), what looks kind of sad, but doesn’t really affect me. I’m not popular person with big circle of people around me, but I know who my true friends are. Tomorrow, whole 15 days later, because I wanted all to be there and this was first available Saturday, I will celebrate with my friends. I planned this day like it was my wedding. I just got ...

Makeup factory: Mat effect makeup base

Shiny T-zone has always been my biggest concern. It always makes me look and messy, greasy and feel uncomfortable. So I’m a big fan of all kinds of mattifying products. Over the years the situation is slightly improving, because I found some great products, but I’m not done with my battle yet. My mission is to find products that would work for a whole working day (that means 8 hours for me). I think that’s science fiction for now, it will be easier when my skin get’s older and consequently less oily, I think. My latest addition to mattifiyng products is mattifiyng primer from Makeup factory. This is the third primer I ever tried. First two were total disaster, but this one is somehow better, but not ideal.    It comes in very practical, elegant and expensive looking glass packaging with a pump. Well this wasn’t cheap, but it’s in upper drugstore range. It’s typically looking pink-white primer, with medium thickness and creamy consistency. It has very pleasant ...

Discovering photo books

I have a passion for observing photographs as long as I remember. I could stare at pictures in books and magazines for hours and thinking about people or places on them. Reading is great and important, but sometimes just need something different to relax and get carried away. I recently discovered that my favorite kinds of pictures are called street photography. This is not professional definition, but street photography simply means to take pictures of random people and random non pre directed situations on the streets. Often people don’t have a clue that they are being photographed, other times they are posing for a portrait. I don’t know how is with permissions these days. I assume some people are mad if you take pictures of them, but maybe this was always a problem. I decided to buy one book about street photography. Ok not maybe only with pictures strictly by this definition, but simply said, photo that I would really like and never get bored by it. That kind of book that wou...
