My new book: Overthinking

Hello everyone! I'm returning with something different this time, today's post is about MY new book. So I had this urge for writing for a while but never take a chance to actually do a step forward, because I was scared and insecure. Well, I still am, I'm terrified about my first honest book reviews, but at the same time, I'm very happy and proud of my finished project. I wrote short stories book about my dealing with low self-esteem, fear of driving, and teenage coping with an eating disorder. My way of storytelling is very honest and sometimes even brutal, but this is who I am and there's no reason to hide. I called it "Overthinking" because I often think too much about random, mostly unimportant things and try to plan or predict everything. it is a thing that takes so much of my energy and can occupy my mind completely. I've been scared of expressing myself for so long and hiding behind my shy posts. Anyway, when this lockdown came, I was determined...

My mini lipstick collection

I’m sending you big hello from my home isolation! Hope that you are healthy and staying positive during this difficult and strange time. Now there’s no excuses left for me for not to write, so I decided to have some fun and opened my makeup drawer. I’m presenting you my mini lipstick collection. As you can tell by this post, I’m not really a lipstick person. Lipstick is usually a weekend thing for me. Just to quickly put some colour on my lips and go. I also strongly believe that majority of lip colours don’t suit me. I mean a red is big no for me, so I’m leaning mostly on the nude and pink side. And yes, during my ¨photo session¨ I realized that my lipsticks are all so similar it was so hard to figure out which shade I’m presenting on which… I might try something new when this chaos gets over. So I own 5 lipsticks, these are all shades that I’m comfortable with and I wear them regularly. I got rid of everything I didn’t like. Let’s start with Urban Decay. I have the...

Essence: Never give up your daydream eye palette

I think that March is appropriate month to start with spring makeup, would you agree? Bring on some bright color! I’m a big fan of pastels, especially when it comes to nail polish, blush and eye shadows... and of course clothes too. Recently I desired to play with some bright eye colors, but I was of course bored of those that I already own and wanted to try something new. So I went to explore and pick something very nice and budget friendly – Never give up your daydream by Essence. This stunning palette with totally suitable name contains 9 pastel shimmer, holographic shadows. If you’re looking for mattes, this is not for you. Shadows are not that crazy pigmented, so you would be able to create softer looks, but you can also build them up. I like to wear just one shade all over my lid and then define my eye with neutral, usually matte gray shadow. Since all shades are cool toned, I think it looks very nice if I pair them with this contrast. They blend quite easily an...

Yankee candle - Rice milk and honey

When I saw new spring editions to Elevation collections on Instagram, I was so excited and just had to try it as soon as possible. Three days later I manage to get to Yankee store (which is like 110km away), asked for novelties and a few seconds later I bought my new rice milk and honey candle. My expectations were high; I thought it would smell like Kenzo Amour fragrance if you’re familiar with it. Instead it took in a bit different and more gourmand turn. This candle to me smells like milky  vanilla cream. I don’t get specific honey or rice note... At the beginning is comforting, creamy and very pleasant. Anyway after some time, there’s a problem - at least for me. Candle starts smelling like burning vanilla pudding. Initial brightness goes away and some kind of burning or smoky note appears along. Such a shame! Am I too sensitive? Maybe you’ll enjoy it more than I do; maybe it will smell better to you. So don’t give up of giving it a chance and try it. ...

Book review: Andrea Barber - Full Circle

In my childhood Full house was my favorite sitcom along with Fresh prince of Bel Air and Family matters. I really enjoyed watching one of these shows every afternoon. One episode doesn’t take you much time, unless you’re binge-watching. Content is often funny, relatable, relaxing and doesn’t require much thinking. I’m always happy when I accidently catch a re-run, it always brings back happy memories. I was excited when I saw the announcement on YouTube that another cast member of Full House will publish her book. Andrea Barber who played goofy and often special next door neighbor with specific clothing style decided to write her biography. She was never my favorite, I preferred DJ and Stephanie, but I always admired her confidence. I mean nothing can break Kimmy Gibbler! Sadly in reality this is not completely true. Andrea went through some very tough time in her life. Being a child actor was not easy. Kids in school didn’t like her that much and she was often being b...

Another collage of beautiful things

I know, it’s almost mid-February and my blog is still ˝resting˝. I felt guilt and laziness, so I decided to finally get myself into work mode. Today I’m presenting you beautiful things that recently caught my eye. Some of them I’m actually planning to buy eventually, some are just for looking. Let’s start with books and Brexit and I’m not joking. My favourite online bookstore is Bookdepository, based in England. By the end of this year, you can still buy books by great prices and with free worldwide shipping, but this might change. We don’t know what will happen, but if you do have a wish list, maybe you should place your orders in future months, just to be sure. I have three books on my list: 1. Maybe you should talk to someone – Lori Gottlieb . Lori tells us a story about how is to be a psychiatrist and how does it look like when a doctor itself needs a help. This was a very brief description. 2. Brother and sister – Diane Keaton . Famous actress writes about her childho...
