Summer morning skincare routine

Hello there and welcome to my blog! This time I’m going to briefly describe my morning skincare routine. My summer days start super early because I need to be at the office at 6 AM.  During hot months I like to use refreshing and cooling products to wake me up and make me feel better. It’s my little ritual and I love it. Hope you’ll find something to add to your morning care. Step 1  – in the morning I always clean my face with micellar water from Caudalie. It is gentle, but effective and has a light herbal tea-like scent. Step 2  – occasionally, when I feel super tired and look like a real mess, I like to use anti-age cooling under-eye pads from Balea. They are quite good and affordable, but I’m thinking about replacing them with some kind of face roller. That would be an even cheaper and more permanent solution and most of all could be used every morning. Step 3  - a good face mist is a must for me, the one I like the most is again from Caudalie, their iconic beaut...

La Roche Posay: Anthelios Anti-Imperfections corrective gel-cream with SPF 50

Today we’re going to check the last product from my ‘Testing on vacation’ series and I would call it the most important one because SPF is a big thing – La Roche Posay Anthelios Anti-imperfections corrective gel-cream with SPF 50. What a name, right? Try to explain that to your pharmacist at the counter. Pros: It was the most affordable from the range It didn’t break me out Offers great protection Practical packaging Cons: If you put too much (I mean you supposed to be generous with your application) it starts to peel off Quite greasy  Leaves not very flattering (ok ugly) shiny finish You should blend it really well, otherwise, you’re left with a white cast It is not a gel formula like it is written on the tube Salicylic acid slightly burnt me at first, but my skin is not sensitive For a beach or a pool time, I would surely recommend this, because it is reliable, but for every day it can be too heavy and too shiny. You can improve the situation with a powder, but it will leave your...

NUXE Sun - after sun hair&body shampoo

Time for the product no. 2 from my ‘Testing on vacation’ series:  NUXE Sun – after sun hair&body shampoo. This product was a hit and also a miss for me. First of all, it smells amazing – a tropical vacation in a plastic tube. This scent reminds me of that old-school heavy sunscreen, but with some extra exotic flowers added, it is very strong and stays on your skin for quite a while. Another positive thing about it is that is gentle to your skin and great for frequent showering. It left my skin smooth and there was no that uncomfortable and urgent need for applying my lotion. But this softness also has a negative part – it did no remove my sun cream completely and that resulted in some white stains on my black shorts afterward. So I ‘scrubbed’ harder the next time and the results were the same. Keep that in mind while dressing something tighter and dark. And now the grand finale – it was just horrible on my hair. My hair gets greasy usually on the second day, but with this shamp...

Vichy: Mineral 89 serum

Before I went on my holiday, I sowed you some new products that I brought with me for testing along the way. Now that I’m back I owe you to share my thoughts about selected products. In three upcoming posts, I’ll write my reviews and discuss the pros and cons as usual. Let’s start with the first one today and that is  Vichy Mineral 89 serum. This serum is simply amazing! It really surprised me, because before I tried it I never understood all that fuss about it. It’s practically water for Christ's sake! What can be so great about that? It turned out that using this makes a big difference on my skin. This product is very light, but effective because it is full of Hyaluronic acid and Vichy mineral water and it simply makes your skin ‘happier’ and hydrated without making it greasy or messing with your other skincare products. It has no fragrance, so it is suitable for sensitive skin, it absorbs quite quickly and leaves your face fresh and hydrated. It has a gel-like consistency that t...

Dreaming about ...things

Here I am again with yet another wish list collage. I’ve got a mix of everything, so let’s just dive into it. Safari shirt dress by Desigual – this caught my attention a few months ago even and it is finally on sale now, so you can hopefully get it at a reasonable price. Shirt dresses are my favorite because they look classy and can be casual at the same time. it is very flattering for my figure, especially with the belt. I see myself wearing it with sneakers and my beloved mini backpack. Stanmore II Bluetooth speaker by Marshall – last year, on Black Friday sale I bought myself the first Marshall portable speaker, similar to this, but smaller, named Stockwell II. I am more than happy with it and it is in use almost every single day, for at least an hour. But now I want another one, a bigger one because size matters. Someone said on YouTube that after he bought his first Marshall, he soon wanted another one and I said to myself then that he must be crazy. Now I understand him. Don’t k...

Maybelline: Lifter gloss 009 Topaz

I recently got a gift card for my local drugstore for my birthday and this product was among a few carefully selected I purchased with it. I can’t explain why, but when I receive a gift card I have an extra hard time choosing what I want to get with it. Anyway, I’m trying to talk about  Lifter gloss from Maybelline  in shade  009 Topaz. This shade is very sheer orange-brown with some shy golden glitter. It is quite shiny but still subtle. I am disappointed about this color, I thought it would be richer and my go-to for this summer, but it is nothing special. In our country, we are very limited in the shade range. I find it very moisturizing, super comfortable to wear, and quite long-lasting. It can’t be compared to some other similar and more expensive products I own and love (I'm obsessed with Zoeva) but it is great and I would recommend it as long as you can find desired shade for you. It smells like chocolate and coffee to me, very delicious and not overwhelming. The p...

Testing on summer vacation

This vacation I’m going to play with some new products I just ordered and of course, do some testing at the same time. I am really excited about that because I love discovering new things and write about them later. I am not afraid that they would completely let me down, I trust them enough, all are from reputable French brands.  Let’s see which novelties I’m bringing with me: Vichy Mineral 89 fortifying and plumping daily booster  – I heard so many good things about this and I finally ordered a mini size just to try it for the summer. This serum is packed with mineralizing water and hyaluronic acid and I think it will be great using it in the evening as some kind of after-sun treatment. Some special care for calming my skin down and just pamper it with moisture. It has a cooling effect too which is perfect. I love the bottle, it is heavy and feels expensive (but I got it on sale). La Roche Posay Anthelios Anti- imperfections corrective gel-cream SPF 50 -  I’m really havi...
