LUSH: Good karma shower gel

Recently I went to the LUSH store, after my usual summer break from their products. The only thing I buy there are bubble baths and I stay away from those during hot weather. But this time I wanted to try something different, so I picked up one of their curl products –  Good karma shower gel. First of all, this stuff is expensive! But that somehow didn’t turn me away. I tried sniffing the gel through my mask, but all I could smell was the Lush store itself. A combination of patchouli and orange was written on the label – my type of combination. I was so curious about it that I tried it the same evening. And WOW, this is super strong! I think that the whole house knew what I was using in the shower. The main part of the Good karma scent is that old-school patchouli supported by some freshness and light sweetness from the oranges in the background. I quite like it, it gives me those retro vibes and leans on the male side. Now I’m using this as a bubble bath and I like it better that ...

My most worn fragrances of the season

This time I would like to introduce you to my three most worn fragrances of the season. Fall can be tricky with temperatures. It is not yet cold enough for deep, strong scents and on the other hand, softer perfumes can be ˝lost˝ too quickly. These three are somewhere in between, well at least for my taste. Coco Noir by Chanel  – first of all this is definitely for citrusy patchouli lovers. Sharp and sometimes even repulsive upon initial spray, but once it settles down, it becomes softer, somehow rounded, and beautiful. Like I already mentioned, the heart of the fragrances represents patchouli that gives it a bit of ˝bossy˝ character to the whole composition, so I assume that’s why it is called noir. It is not a true nighttime fragrance to me, because it is just too bright. The second prominent note is grapefruit, which I am not a big fan of, but it is tolerable. The dry down is a combination of something slightly sweet, smooth, and spicy and again with a hint of patchouli from the ...

Caudalie: Vinoclean instant foaming clenser

When it comes to facial cleansing products, I am very picky and you should be too because we have plenty to choose from. They need to be gentle, but of course effective and also very important – they need to smell great. This may sound superficial, but it’s true. I like products that smell great! I got  Vinoclean instant foam clenser by Caudalie  in a gift set, it is in 50ml travel size. It comes in a simple, but elegant packaging, typical for the brand.  It is gentle, so I use it for my second cleaning if I’m wearing makeup, but still strong enough for a regular wash of my often-oily skin. It does not irritate or dry out my skin (nor eyes), which is a huge plus, so it is a great choice for sensitive skin. At first, I found foamy consistency a bit strange, because it is not a compact foam like I am used to it from other types of products, but now I love it. This product was a great traveling companion. It did a great job removing my heavy SPF products on holiday, so that ...

Dolce&Gabanna Pour Femme fragrance review (second one)

If you are looking for an all-year-round fragrance that is sweet, slightly gourmand, but still sophisticated at the same time, that this is the one you should give it a try. This is not a new fragrance, it has been on the market since 2012. Pour femme by Dolce&Gabanna  opens up with a strong blast of mandarin blossom which is simply amazing, but quite intense. After a few minutes, when this settles down, we get to the heart of the fragrance – powdery marshmallow with a hint of vanilla and some white flowers in the background. This is my second bottle and I have been more than happy with it. It ˝behaved˝ great even at the peak of the summer, it was not overwhelming. Also, it is very office-friendly and although it is sweet, you will not leave a bad impression, because it has some old-school qualities.  On my skin, it is very long-lasting. Here are the notes, found on Fragrantica: TOP NOTES: raspberry, neroli, mandarin orange MIDDLE NOTES: orange blossom, jasmine BASE NOTES:...

Classy, but sexy

Yesterday I was so in the mood for making another outfit collage and here it is. You’ll be the judge of how successfully selected items even belong together. This is one of my pre-winter outfit ideas. 3/4-sleeved turtleneck by Maxmara  – it is the most expensive item from the picture. I wanted a solidly ˝built˝ quality jumper (wool and cashmere blend), basic and versatile. Something that would surely keep me warm and made me feel luxuriously great. I am not sure if I can justify its price point. And also, the type of coat I chose to go with it almost requires something with a high neck. Leather effect leggings by Hugo Boss  – another fancy selection. I love how they look on skinny people, but I am not sure if I would be comfortable wearing them, not even under a long coat. Maybe I should try with just a shiny finish first They give that sexy touch to the classic elegance. Warm leggings can be a great, stylish and comfortable option as long as they don’t look cheap. Textured co...
