Lookbook: Casually happy

I always think that yellow is such a happy color, so this look was created to make you all feel better even just for a second or two. The centerpiece is this oversized ribbed velour shirt that looks super comfortable and effortlessly chic. Giant clothes are still popular and they can also help to hide those parts that you don’t feel that great about. High wasted jeans are quite basic, but with some additional touches, so they look more youthful and trendy. Although it is still wintertime, you can easily get away by wearing white sneakers. Then we have another joyful piece – a floral backpack that still looks adult enough to be taken seriously. And my favorite touch, pearly hoop earrings for just a bit of glam.  SHIRT: Zara  JEANS: Orsay SNEAKERS: Adidas NY90 BACKPACK: Desigual EARRINGS: Kate Spade

MAC: Modesty cremesheen lipstick

Today I would like to quickly show you my currently most loved lipstick –  Modesty by MAC Cosmetics . It is surely one of those so-called ˝my lips but better˝ lip shades but leans more towards pink on me. I believe it has just that right amount of pink and brown and looks flattering on my pale face. I hardly find something that suits me, I guess I am not a big lipstick person. Modesty  comes in cremesheen formula, which is really super creamy, moderately pigmented, semi-shiny, and very comfortable to wear. It is quite long-lasting but without surpluses.  These pictures don’t do justice to the color, because in person it looks way more like a medium mauve shade. Anyway, if you’re looking for that effortless everyday shade that will enrich your look, this is the shade to check out. It might look shy but doesn’t look boring.

Chanel: Poudre Belle Mine Ensoleillee in Medium Light

Many of us, I believe, occasionally crave something fancy. Something that will make us feel special just for a little while and we often find that in luxury makeup items. CHANEL definitely represents that luxury, at least with their advertising. But can it defend its name when it comes to the quality of beauty products? I have really good experience with the original line of Leis Beiges sheer powders, so I wanted to explore more within this expanded or even limited-edition line. Les Beiges Poudre Belle Mine Ensoleillee  is a soft bronzing illuminator which supposed to give you that flattering, healthy-looking sun kissed glow. I chose mine in the shade  ˝Medium light˝. I would describe it as warm-toned, soft orange-brown with a lot of golden sheen. The color itself is quite sheer and easy to blend, but the golden particles are noticeable in the sunlight, especially if you try to build up a shade. For my skin tone, this is too light to be used as a bronzer, it is more like a gol...

OPI: For What It's Earth - Nature strong collection

Hello there and happy Tuesday! I hope you survived yesterday – statistically the most depressing Monday of the year. But that thing is over, so let’s optimistically move on now. OPI finally went into ˝healthier˝ waters and created their first line of natural origin vegan nail lacquers. This line is huge, because they created 30 new shades, so you should be able to find something for yourself. In my country Slovenia, this line is available only online and in a few nail salons and it is quite pricy – 13,90 €. For start, I picked only one shade, but I will surely order more. For What It’s Earth  is a neutral earthy pink shade. This one caught my attention immediately because I have nothing similar at this moment. It looks pink under sunlight and more brown-ish under artificial lights. It is one-coater for sure, but I always do two coats, so it can last longer. The wearing time is average for OPI, not the best, but still good enough. I never wear a topcoat, because I love to change my ...

Katie Price: Harvey and me - A mother's love - book review

I pre-ordered this book as soon as I saw it was announced and was very excited about it. I am not a fan of Katie, but I also don’t have anything strong against her either. Let’s be honest, she is very inventive, enterprising and most of all confident in what she is doing – and this book is one of her better projects. This time she stepped back (but just a little) and put the shining light on her firstborn Harvey. Harvey was born with many disabilities and medical conditions and had to face with numerous of challenges since his day one. But at the same time he is also very talented and clever young man. Katie is very good at describing everything, her writing is interesting, filled with humour and anecdotes and never boring. I deeply admire her as a parent and I think this was the main reason that I bought this book in first place. When I saw her relationship with Harvey on YouTube, I was amazed how great she is with him and of course with her other children as well. I really liked this...

Lookbook: Spring vibes of January

Last week the weather was abnormally warm and super pleasant for this time of the year, so this inspired me to slightly flirt with spring.  As a base, I selected a beautiful light blue/gray velvet dress. Still warm enough and super comfortable. I would wear it with thicker skin-colored tights or even leggings. Then we have a beige, short leather jacket which brightens the whole look a bit and complimented low ankle boots, convenient enough for long city walks. as some kind of enrichment of the whole look, I selected a slightly bolder bucket bag that stands out. I believe that you need something like this when you are accessorizing ˝safe˝ and ¨quiet¨ outfits. Then we have a steel bangle bracelet with a traditional pattern that looks fun and easy to wear. DRESS - Part Two EYVORPW DR (tradewinds shade) JACKET - Freaky Nation SHOES - Anna Field BAG - Moschino Heart bucket bag BRACELET - Kate Spade Heritage flower hinged bangle

Jen Atkin: Blowing my way to the top - book review

Here’s finally another book review from a lazy reader, but I’m hopefully about to change that this year. Wish me luck! Blowing my way to the top (great title, right?) is I would say a personal development book, full of great advice and inspiration. But sadly, that advice is quite generic and flat. I expected more. More details, more behind the scene stuff, and ¨modern wisdom¨. I understand that she couldn’t share secrets confidential information about celebrities or something like that, but if you create a successful beauty brand and work with fierce people like Kris Jenner, you have to offer us more. It is not a bad book, by any means. I would still recommend it, especially to teenage readers or those in their 20s, but older readers could be disappointed. There are some interesting facts included, which I liked. That always enriches the text. Her style of writing is flowy, often funny. She also likes to make fun of herself and describes how she learned from her own mistakes. I even wr...
