Movie night: Bridget has a baby

Last night, my two friends and I went to Novo mesto to see the new Bridget Jones movie – Bridget has a baby. This was my girl's ˝night˝ out after a long time and I was super excited for days. I even planned my outfit, including nail polish and perfume – this sounds so desperately I know, but I rarely go out. My ˝life˝ mostly happens at work, regular trips to shopping malls and of course visits to my boyfriend in Ljubljana. I usually wear jeans, my favorite shoes are Sketchers. This year I promised myself that I will invest in more elegant clothes, no more girly T-shirts and childish patterns. Ok, I got carried away. Our little trip was short, but awesome. Firstly we went to a bookstore to buy some presents for upcoming family birthdays. We could just stay there forever admiring nicely designed book covers and playing with children’s books. Who say that men are visual creatures? We are obsessed with shiny things and we just want to buy everything possible. Then we went on t...

New(er) stuff

We’re already approaching the middle of September and I already have some new stuff that I’m dying to show you. Just to show – reviews will come later. Luckily, the next paycheck will come soon, because lately money just flies from me. I will need to set my limits. Yankee Candle – Oak&Ebony candle I am guilty of buying another Yankee Candle. But I must admit that this is my favorite smell so far. It brings back some childhood memories. I used to collect oaks, leaves and pine cones and then the whole room smelled so beautifully – just like this candle. This scent calms me. It’s not strong, but it’s present in the room. My room is smaller and candles sadly quickly give me headaches. I bought just a sample candle to try it out, but I will definitely buy a larger one. I just hope it won’t be too strong. Oak and Ebony scent is from newest Harvest collection for fall 2016. Yves Saint Lauren – Black Opium Nuit Blanche Now I’m apparently between that 70% of the young wom...

Autumn selection

Yaaaaay we're in September and that means, that fall is unofficially here. Say goodbye to sweating for the whole day, restless nights and mosquito bites. I had enough of staring at tons of pictures from holiday on my Facebook wall. Like we all don’t know how the sea side looks like. We spend too much time and money for summer. Diets, clothes, products… like that we live just for the summer break. Does anyone prepare for autumn? I’m looking forward to new seasons of TV shows, upcoming movies, Duchess of Cambridge on tour to Canada (yes that’s right, but only I’m curious about her clothes), cold evenings with burning my favorite candles, soups for lunch, hot baths, walks in nature and cuddling under the blanket with my boyfriend. The rain is still romantic now, because I was missing it. I’m considering replacing my ice cream treats with waffles and cakes – that will be fun! And I also need to start working out again. These are my highlights of colder days.  I admit, I was th...

Brow chat

I must admit I got a bit carried away, but just a bit. A few months ago, I said that I absolutely hate this thick brow trend and I still do. But I started to like polished (groomed and fixed) brows, just a tiny bit thicker which are a lightly emphasized, usually with a pencil. Got the picture? I got rid of my Essence clear brow gel, which became just horrible and was doing absolutely no good for me. It was like mild paper glue, turning into visible white rolls when dried, which stuck on and around my brows. Just useless. Then I discovered brow wax, which by my opinion looks better then gel. Gel ˝shrinks˝ brows too much, so they can look unnatural, some even gave wet look. Firstly I was very tempted to try the one from Anastasia Beverly Hills, but then I read on several beauty blogs, that there’s a good dupe for it from Milani. I ordered Milani’s clear shaping wax on ebay, since it’s not sold in my country (what a surprise).  I’ve got mixed feelings about it. It gives my brows ...

Food review: Noodles from The Wok

*This review was written by my boyfriend Krištof, because food is one of his passions. On Saturday me and my girlfriend visited "restaurant" The Wok, which is located in the city centre of Ljubljana. It serves noodles together with ingredients of your own choosing and everything comes neatly packed in a box. On the outside The Wok looks like an ordinary fast food restaurant, you have a couple of tables and a bar where you order the food. There is another floor above the restaurant where you take your food and eat. The decor inside is quite modern and trendy and I liked it. The part where you order your food can be quite confusing, since you have three columns of ingredients and you can mix those together to find the noodles you like most. After you order you get a receipt with your number and you have to wait for your order.  So we ordered 2 x whole wheat noodles with shrimps and teriyaki sauce. What we received is not what we ordered, so that was the first shock. The...

Book review: Leah Remini's Troublemaker (or Zgaga in Slovenian)

I had this on my list even before it was published and wanted to buy it from the beginning. But then it turned out to be such a huge bestseller that even my small local library got it, so I could borrow it. I was so happy when it was finally in my hands and started reading it the same day. It was a fast read. Maybe a bit strange, because I got translated version and I believe that the original is always better. I know Leah Remini from the sitcom ˝King of Queens˝, which is one of my favorite shows. I always admired her character on the show, because she is a total opposite of me. She has high level of self esteem and is never afraid to tell what she really means. Later I found out that she is similar person in the real life, or even more ˝mean˝. Another thing that was so attractive about this book was of course scientology. I always wanted to know what is happening behind those blue walls of the famous church’s building in L.A. What kind of religion is this? Who from celebrities is inv...
