Book review: Going off script by Giuliana Rancic

know for Giuliana since I started watching E! about 6 years ago. I always admired how relaxed and natural she is in front of cameras, on the red carpet. She is also very funny, good looking and knows how to dress. In the past years she became a successful entrepreneur, this book is just one part of her business. Giuliana and her husband Bill own a restaurant together; they were in a reality show, she has also her line of clothes and wine with her name. The only thing that is ˝bothering˝ me is her weight, but that’s I her personal thing. I just wish for her to stay healthy and happy. Let’s finally talk about the book. Firstly Giuliana owns a masters degree in journalism and wrote it by herself. That’s a rare thing, usually celebrities do collaboration. Everyone wants to have their own book, but not all of them are born as good writers. Overall it’s good, interesting, well written and I would recommend (borrow) it to my friends. I never got bored while reading it and I get bored ver...

Mini Lush haul

Since I get my first bath bomb (Sex bomb) from Lush for my birthday about two months ago, I become obsessed with their products. I wanted to try out everything; my wishlist was growing every week. I calmed down a bit and become more reasonable. A few days ago I visited Lush store and bought just two items, other products will get on their turn some other time. Let’s admit, Lush is not very wallet friendly, especially if you’re an occasional impulsive shopper like myself. As you may notice, I love coffee and honey scents and these products smell like – you guessed, honey and coffee.  Bath bomb – Honey Bee Gorgeous smelling yellow ball of joy, for effective aromatherapy and soft skin. It has also clay in it which purifies the skin a bit. The clay sits down to the bottom of the tub and gets the feeling like you’re sitting on sandy beach. It’s not so realistic feeling, but with good imagination you can get there. It smells like flowers, honey and citruses. I find this smell calm...

New products for June/July

After a period of laziness, hectic days and summer holiday, I finally found some motivation to write my blog again. In the past weeks I bought some new makeup and skincare products and today I’m going to present some of them to you. Generally speaking I’m really satisfied with my latest purchases, so these items can be easily categorized as my June/July or even all time favorites. Yves Rocher – Jardins du Monde - Brazilian coffee velvet shower cream I’m a big coffee lover, but I rarely like coffee scented products. I don’t know why, but often they smell so strange and fake. This shower cream is a bright exception; I bought it for the third time now. It smells realistic and somehow makes me feel so great and relaxed, especially after my workout. It’s very thick and creamy; you need just a little amount. The whole bathroom then smells like coffee house. I’ve been lately in loved in coffee and honey scented products as you will notice. Although the product is quite perfumed, it doe...

All my blushes

Today I’m going to present you my blush collection. Ok, it’s a mini collection to be exact. I used to be afraid of blushes, because I thought they would make me look unnatural or clown-like. Sometimes they do. If a color is very pigmented it’s so easy to apply too much, but you can always repair ˝the damage˝ with extra blending or just wiping it off a bit. So don’t be afraid of bright colors and shimmer, just try what you like and apply light handed – you’ll be just fine. Let we start with two of my favorites. First is Instain long wearing blush from The Balm in color Pinstripe . I’ve got quite pale complexion, bur adore deep, plummy colors. This kind of color was very difficult to find in our drugstores, so I eventually gave up, and ordered it from The Balm. It’s a rosy/violet/brown with some subtle golden shimmer. Shimmer is not visible when the color is blended also the color becomes more dusty/rosy/red on my cheeks. It’s not a true plum when is applied. Oh dear God, I hop...

Seduction from a dark bottle: Chrystal noir, Jasmine noir L’Essence

Dark perfume bottles are always sending me similar message: I’m made for the night out, I’ll make you sexy and irresistible, men will go crazy, and heads will turn… that’s before I smell the content, later things often change and my imagination is left disappointed. I adore oriental and more complex fragrances, but they must be wearable for different occasions and definitely not to strong. It’s primitive for my age, I know, but it still always helps, if perfume comes in a pretty bottle. I believe that this fragrance doesn’t need an introduction, because everybody knows it. If it used to be reserved for a bit older Misses, now a lot of teenage girls wear it, what I found a bit disturbing. Girls, stick with your idol/celebrity fragrances like we used to when we were in high school. Ok, I’m joking, but this fragrance is still quite popular even after 12 years – yes it’s that old. Chrystal noir smells like spicy white flowers with some light sweetness, wood and coconut added. It’s str...

First impressions: Bioderma Sebium mat control and L'oreal Extraordinary Oil Cleansing Milk-Oil

My skin care routine which was great for fall and winter, let me down completely recently. Micellar water from Balea that I was using, gone bad after five months, even it had a sign that you can use it in a year after opening. Some kind of dirty little parts were swimming in it. My Vichy Normaderm daily moisturizer was not helping me to control my greasy skin at all. The only thing that is good for a whole year round is a Night detox cream also from Vichy, that’s a permanent part in my face care. As I said, my skin got super oily in these hot days. I need to blot my face every time I go to the bathroom during work - that means about three times in eight hours. And it’s not just T-zone that’s causing me a problem, but recently also cheeks. How can I use a highlighter or shiny blush if I have already enough of shine like everywhere. I always use pressed powder - Stay matte from Rimmel, but is rescues the situation just for short period of time. So I decided to make some changes....
