OPI: Stranger tides

A few posts back I mentioned my recent obsession with green color. This love for green transferred also on my nails, because I bought my first green nail polish. A year ago this would be definitely ugly looking and strongly inappropriate, but now I’m really enjoying my green nails. It’s just color that cams me down and somehow feels comfortable. I must admit it was quite difficult to find a good shade, because not all green polishes are pretty. I hate minty or too dark, too shimmery or too gold… Yes I’m very picky and finding perfect shade was whole project. At the end I was selecting between three polishes. First one was Zoya - Ireland and the second and third ones were two from OPI – This isn’t Greenland and Stranger tides. At the end I bought the last option. Stranger tides is nail polish from older collection called Pirates of the Caribbean from 2011. This color is available only on line I think, especially on Ebay. I was skeptical about its quality, because it’s ol...

Color code #shadesofred

After my post about green color and orange wishes, it's time to focus on red. I just recently bought my first red eye shadow and I was stunned how much I like it. It's not just for bolder smoky eye looks, but can be a really nice refreshment in soft nude everyday makeup. Red strongly reminds my on fall, but it is also a strong, statement summer color. A true mood uplifter, just give if a chance. Here a short selection of things in red that recently caught my eye. It's partly a wish list, but things can change rapidly, you know :) Splendida Magnolia Sensuel by Bvlgari (2018) - gorgeous bottle, but I haven't try it yet. According to reviews, it would not really be something I strongly like. And I'm also not planning to buy a new fragrance, but surely I'll try it as soon as I can. Mango leather mini shopper bag - from the pictures I saw, it's a perfection. and for my excuse, I don't own a bag in this color. It might just be mine someday soon, but I...

Weekend drugstore haul

So what do you do when you get a drugstore gift card for your birthday? Ok first option: you pick something more expensive product that was on your wish list, but you never took a chance to buy it. Second option: you buy a bunch of things that you use on regular basics with some exceptions. I decided for a second version, so let’s see what I bought this weekend. Garnier body Cocoon milk with apricot – first time I bought myself this product was 15 years ago, so it brings back memories. May I say from my childhood? It might not have the best and all natural ingredients, but I love it. It is lightly scented and leaves my skin super soft. I love the packaging, because it’s so bright and somehow positive. Garnier facial Botanical cleanser with grape extract – another ˝retro˝ product that’s been my great companion many years ago and now it ˝returned˝ to me. This toner is not harsh to my skin; I never had a bad experience with it. I originally wanted to try version with h...

Le petit strober - Bourjois

BOURJOIS – a word I can never remember how to spell. It's been a while since I bought something from them, but it used to be my favorite fancy drugstore brand. It used to be in ˝sisterhood˝ with Chanel, so there still might be some similarities, but I’m not sure. I had some big disappointments with their under eye concelaers, so because of that I decided to leave this brand alone for a while. Their new collection recently caught my eye, so I forgive them their bad products and I’m ready to try new ones. They launched duo blushers in three shades – blush and bronzer in that famous little pot and a strober, which ended in my shopping bag. Strober comes in one, universal shade - Universal glow , which supposed to be flattering for all skin tones. I would describe this as light golden with some silver shimmer added. It is light color, but buildable, which is great when it comes to easily overdoing products. It is delicately shimmery. It has quite strong floral smell, I b...

Vienna photo story

I have been kind of late with this post, because it’s been over a week since we returned from our trip, but better later than never, right? First week of June, my boyfriend and I spend in beautiful Vienna, Austria. We went there by car, driving is not that long, about four hours from Ljubljana. What is four hours to someone who lives in USA J Donauturm - the highest building in Austria view from  Donauturm Anyway we had a wonderful time, the weather was great. Austria is quite expensive for my opinion. Small bottle of water costs from 1,60€ in stores to 1,90€ at the gas stations. Of course most of restrooms are not for free. Regular cup of coffee is around 3,5€, average lunch is 15€. It might not seem a lot, but money goes quickly from your hands. Food in grocery store was more expensive that in Slovenia, well at least our closest supermarket. Not to mention if you like pretty things in stores… Also commission fees in museums can go up to 25€, while most ...

Currently favorite YouTube channels

Happy Wednesday! Today I’m going to write about my currently favorite YouTube channels. I like to watch YouTube in my bed before going to sleep. It’s not really healthy habit, but it makes me happy, so it can’t be that harmful. I don’t have many subscriptions, because that would take me too much time to watch. Posts are originally nicely scheduled through the week, a few shorter videos during work days and usually one long one during weekend. My favorites types of videos are vlogs, but they have to be dynamic and without endless monologues. I’m a bit tired of makeup reviews, because they often make me buy things that I really don’t need. A good thing is that most of my subscribed channels are from USA, so a lot of presented makeup I can’t even order online in Europe... JAMbeauty 89 Jessica is elementary school teacher from Indianapolis USA and does videos more for a hobby. Her main topic is beauty, but occasionally she focuses also on other things and that’s what makes her chan...

Classical floral green: Chanel no.19

What is the first thing that comes on your mind when you hear about Chanel fragrances? Old lady like, soapy and expensive? That is what I thought for a long time, until I took enough courage to explore Chanel counter at my local drugstore. I was on the mission. My big wish was to actually discover something that I would really like, because I always wanted to own a Chanel fragrance. This may sound snobbish, but I’m just telling the truth. I wanted something different from current trends, by chance something vintage. Yes, their fragrances are pricey, but not all of them are dated and boring (just some ;)). I hated their current bestseller Coco Mademoiselle and was afraid to even try famous no. 5. Coco edt was very pleasant and appealing, I also liked some versions of Chance, but they weren’t that special. Then I tried no.19 and slowly felt in love, but not in a few first minutes, because the opening of it is not that pleasant. It’s a green sharp punch in your nose. After some m...
