Caudalie: Vinosource mattifying fluid & famous Beauty elixir

Hot summer days and stifling office create ideal conditions for testing matifying and other products for oily skin with big promises. A few months ago I was using Bioderma’s pore refiner from their sebium line, but didn’t make a review, because it supposed to be discontinued. I’m not sure about that, but that moisturizer was not the best choice for me during winter, because it was too aggressive. I wanted to try something more natural and of course really effective. I was even prepared to spend a bit more money for good products, because greasy face is not attractive at all. I always feel it gives unprofessional, stressful, sweaty and distracted impression of person. Similar is with messy brows, but I’ll write about that some other time.   Beauty community recommended Caudalie . Their cosmetic is natural, with high quality ingredients. I know the brand and own some of their products. So I bought Vinosource moisturizing matfifying fluid for 28€ (tube contains 40ml). ...

Happy Monday!

I was again neglecting this poor blog for a long time and I feel so bad about it. My passion about blogging is occasional. I stare at computer for the whole day at work and have a lack of interest to do this also in my free time, unless I watch pretty new things, chatting with my boyfriend or watching YouTube of course. Maybe my will is just not strong enough and I don’t have a clear vision about this blog, which recently celebrated its first birthday. I can say I reached my initial goals. I believe my writing has improved, pictures are getting better and I have more visitors. But what do I want to do in the future? Firstly I want to write more frequently, so to be present more often. On this way, people will take my blogging seriously (if someone accidentally comes on my page). Problem is that my posts are rarely exclusive or highly original. I buy things for myself; I always buy what I like and not just for making a review and this just won’t change. I do what makes me happy. Sadly,...

Room renovation

I've been planning to renovate my room for some years, but a few weeks ago I finally decided to go in action. Some pieces of furniture were just so old and used that they need a replacement. Writing desk for example was from my father’s childhood, carpet was at least 40 years old and so on. Of course my father thinks that new furniture is not necessary, but I don’t really care for antiques – joke. So I wanted to replace my desk and carpet, buy smaller chest of drawers, new office chair and maybe some accessories. Quite some things, right? I’m almost done with renovation now. The hardest thing was filled up new closet space and decided what I need to throw away. I’m still a bit confused and often searching for my things, because I don’t remember where I put them. Carpet was first and the hardest thing to choose. It was also more expensive that I originally wanted to pay for, but I’m very satisfied with my purchase. It’s made of natural materials, very soft to touch and what...

OPI polishes after some years of use

Today we'll check how older bottles of OPI nail polishes look like after some years of use. First let’s repeat some general rules about storing nail polishes. They should be kept in dark and cool place, but not in refrigerator. Ideal are cooler rooms with consistent temperature, without exposing to direct sunlight. Polishes shouldn’t be near any sources of heat. Light and heat can promote color changes and fading. I just hate that some shelves in drugstores are so hot, because of heavy lightning and when you pick up a bottle it’s warm. I recently bought ruined lipstick, because it was stored on this way. I picked up 7 older polishes, they are from OPI, because this is my favorite brand and of course most of my lacquers are from them. Some are already out of use, waiting to be thrown away. One will be soon used up. Do you throw your polishes away after they’re expired? I mean after that recommended time of use, which is usual from 24-36 months, or you wait until they go bad...

I draw lines with: Artdeco Soft Eye Liner waterproof & L'oreal Paris Color Riche Le Smoky

After putting out some negative thoughts about Lancome and MAC I will sadly going to continue in the same tone. This time my disappointment came from Artdeco’s counter. To be more exact, from their eyeliner section. I’m not a regular user of eyeliners or any kind of cosmetics pencils. But some weeks ago, I wanted some change in my makeup, so I bought Soft Eye Liner waterproof from Artdeco . I thought it will be great for a beginner like me and easy to use. And as I know waterproof means that it’s long lasting and doesn’t smudge, right? Not so true in this case. I choose color nr. 93 named ˝Historic wood˝ .  This is dark grey-brown color with some shimmer. I wanted softer everyday look, not the classic black liner. It looks great when swatching on hand and doesn’t move, but on my greasy eyelids it’s just not as good. Ok it smudges after a long day that is something that I expected. But the glitter falls out very quickly and it noticeable sticks under my eyes. The s...

MAC: Peony Petal blush

I always wanted to try something from MAC (cosmetic brand, of course), just to make sure, if I’m really missing something out or not. My choice was a blush, because I adore blushes and they can be in use longer than lipsticks for example. Decision over a shade was a bit hard; there are just too many colors available. I finally picked up ˝Peony petal˝. It is bright, satin pink with blue undertones and looks natural and more matte on my quite pale cheeks. It gives me that soft, porcelain doll like look. I wore it entire winter and I will gladly continue to wear it during spring. The pigmentation is not very good, but buildable. I like this, because you can’t overdue it. Blush is nicely buttery and blends very well. I apply it with flat stippling brush to show up more. I just hope I have original product, it was bought on Ebay. Anyway I like the color and is quite long lasting, but I’m not super impressed. I don’t believe it’s worth the price, only if you really want to buy...

Burberry: Brit Rhythm

I believe my obsession with lavender started, when I bought lavender hand cream from L’occitane. I wasn’t very happy when leaving the store, because this cream was my second choice and I always thought that lavender is just boring and for old people or your bathroom. Luckily I was wrong and entirely felt in love with the scent. I liked it so much that I wanted to buy a lavender perfume. Soon I discovered that this goal will be hard to reach and much easier to achieve if I were a guy. Lavender is often used in male and home fragrances. Maybe things will change because on the new Mon Guerlain (guess what, it contains top lavender note), but reviews are not the best and I think that again the note of vanilla is sadly dominating. So let’s finally get to the point. When searching on Fragrantica.com Brit Rhythm is not listed under lavender group, but I found it on forum. I hadn’t have high expectations, because I always thought that Burberry can be boring and word aromatic in descrip...
